Healing fins?

Well, my betta that was chasing and eating his tail finally stopped! I've been adding salt and mela-fix to promoste fin growht. But what does it look like when fins start to heal? Because right now, the end where he was biting has a little bit of a whitish-clear look to it...and I'm thinking that could be new fin growth. It's only on the fin that he was biting.

He stopped biting his tail last weekend...he hasn't done it since about Friday...I hope it's new fin growth and not something harmful. But it looks fine to me. Any ideas?

does mela-fix work? i have some that i bought for my other betta but im not sure whether i should use it cuz i read a ton of compliments for bettamax =/ keep me updated =]

Well, so far Melafix is working for me! I can definitely tell that it's new growth now because the white/clear parts on his tail are getting a little bit longer. Does anyone know when he will re-gain hsi color back in that part of the tail? Or does that usually take awhile?
