got confirmation my 1st ever betta was posted today!

tank is ready and waiting for him!

does everyone think caden is a good name? its meant to be fighter in american?

also what is best to feed my betta and how do i put him in the tank as he is being posted so will be in transit!

Aww cOngrats!! I heard if you feed pellets Hikari is the best, but if you feed bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc...I can't help you with that And to put him in his tank I believe you shall want to float him.

do i just add him to the tank like any other fish? ie float bag and add timy bits of my tank water to bag?

As for feeding? Just remember - variety is the spice of life! Hikari pellets are generally accepted as one of the heathier brands, but I know owners who feed several brands since each food has its merits. Additionally, you may want to buy frozen brine shrimp and blood worms (freeze dried is bad for the GI). Bettas love them, and they are a wonderful healthy treat. Flakes and freeze-dried foods should be avoided since they can cause constipation and swim bladder.

variety is best as the others have posted. You can feed freeze-dried foods but only every now and then. Like once every two weeks. You can feed mashed peas to. Live food is yummy to. I feed flake food, pellets, freexe-dried foods, and peas. I have very healthy, strong bettas.

D'oh! I can't believe I forgot about live! I use neo-natal crickets (like pinheads, but a bit smaller, bred from my own stock) and fruit flies (which seem to grow in abundance in my house ). I'm leery of live worms as I've heard of bettas getting bacterial infections from blackworms especially?

yea i was wondering that to... then again, after speaking to most of the americans at my school, you would think they do speak a different language... one of my american 'amigos' repeatedly says, proudly, he speaks american... lol oh well, they're a big country, they can do what they want, lol...
