...Sweet...
My betta fry have just began free-swimming today. I tried to take the male out so he can go in the hospital tank and have a rest. It is his first spawn, and with hundreds of bubbas he must be sooo worn out! Ah, bless him.
Anyway, he does not want to come out, and has been refusing to let me catch him. What are the risks of leaving him in there while the babies grow up? Do I absoloutley HAVE to take him out?

Most males will end up eating the fry if not taken out. Some members on here have been able to keep their male's in longer...but most take them out as pretty soon he will eat the free swimming fry.

Congrats on your spawn!

Thanks aznmidnite...I suppose I'll have to catch him them, whether he likes it or not! :flex: LOL he won't be happy and will probably go all sulky for the next few days. But maybe a snack of bloodworms and other grub will cheer him up. :D
