Looks more like a collanista snail to me? they are goodies!!

but then they look a little like a sundial snail but they are baddies, these have like a little door covering the opening of the shell, these eat zoanthid but I cant be sure?

HTH

It doesn't look like my zebra turbos. But I think it's too pointy to be a sundial snail. I'm not sure, though.

Could be a Sundial Snail. If so, these are zoanthid eaters, so I'd get rid of it asap, not worth the risk. Could be a colonista snail, but I wouldn't take the risk. My main reef is stricken with sundials :(

:( anyway to actualy tell, would be nice to keep him if i could considering he was my first snail :). he only comes out when the lights are off and as soon as the lights come on he goes and hides.

anyone else?

Well, Sundial snails are known to be nocturnal only... Keep at your own risk

I'm with Ski - check the operculum on that guy, as the shape is close to some Sundials I've seen. Sundials have a very distinctive cone-shaped operculum, so you will know immediately if it is or isn't one. The spire is more pronounced than I'd usually expect for one of those, but it's still worth checking. It doesn't look like a zebra turbo, as those are usually T. undulatus. Might be a Collonista.
