Having Problem With Brown Algae...what To Do?

Over the last few weeks my 2.5 gallon planted tank has developed brown algae on the gravel and glass. Is there a way to permanently get rid of this stuff?

I've read that it's diatoms and that it goes away in a cycled tank? Well my tank is cycled but it's obviously growing!

I agree with Themuleous, Oto are great for algae!

I got 4 oto to eat my algae, which was everywhere. After like 1-2 days it was all gone, never to return.
