Hello,

I remember someone saying something about their botia disappearing for ages and then eventually they'd come out.

Well, my botia striata were quite active and out in the open and if I sat for about 10 minutes I would normally be able to see all 3 in one go. But for over a week now I have only ever seen one at a time. God knows if its the same one or different ones!

The last time I got concerned I took a peek under my bogwood...they seem to have made a home under there and they didnt look very pleased that I had disturbed them (if fish can look unhappy), so I'm reluctant to move the bogwood again.

Should I be concerned? The snail population is still virtually non-existant, so that's got to be a good sign :)

I think it was me that said my botia vanished for a long time, since I had a skunk loach that I thought had died and 2 months later I finally saw him when I was taking the whole tank apart. I wouldn't worry about your loaches, they are probably just hiding.

Thanks loachlover. I saw 2 together this weekend. It's made me feel a bit better :)

hi we have 2 yoyos & they love hiding during the day in our rock caves & crevices & under big plant leaves. ive found theyre more active (usually) at night.have you had a peek after lights out time? ours are often seen going mad doing loop the loops in the air bubble wall up the back of the tank or zooming madly past our sleeping tiger barbs startling them....im sure they do it out of pure mischief! hopefully yours are all there & all fine :)
