Thanks, the boa is from a local reptile shop where I happen to be quite a lot but it actually came from the town where I live as it was a friend of the shop owner that bred them which is nice to know. And my mum promised me if I got 8 ones in my standard grades (top grades in scottish exams you sit when you are 16) I could get another snake. Luckily she underestimated her son

So I had wanted a boid for a long time after getting used to snakes with my two corns and had been looking at dwarf boas but when i spoke to the guy he told me they could be temperamental and in getting a regular boa although I would be getting a bigger snake it would be so much more gentle and less unpredictable as well as a whole lot cheaper. And they were hand tame already, so much so that when I asked about them the guy just handed me the key and told me to get them out myself.

He cost me £70 but should have been £80. However the man gave me a discount since I bought all the ceramich heating equipment from him.

Just a pic of his vivarium

He will probably get to around 8ft or 9ft, big females can reach 12ft but I doubt he will get that big.

Lovely snake.

I loved snakes and always wanted one until I was round my friend's house and I was holding his black and white stripey what-ever-it-was.

My friend had to go to the loo, and he asked me to hand the snake to his brother, who was sitting with us, since the snake didn't really know me, and it was BIG and he didn't want to leave me holding it without him in the room - presumably incase it decided to eat me while he was gone - so I handed it to his brother and it promptly crapped all over his lap! oooh it was worse then cat poop, nothing in my life, poop-wise, has ever come close to the grossness of snake poop.

So. No snakes for me, because I can't stand snake poop.

Lovely markings, simply a stunning creature

And the bigger the snake the more poop they pass  I had a large burm in here for a while till it could be found a new home and when it pooped well it Pooped big time :S all i can say if i had a horse in the house it would make less mess

Luckily you learn the toilet signs eventually and also the bigger the boa the less often they go which is lucky.

Thanks for all the coments he really is an angel so calm.

I suppose it is personal choice I would rather have a boa than have to muck out a horse all the time( not that I would say no to a horse though)

He is lovely in colour
