hi all,

i picked up some of what i believe is aquarium fish food. its high betaine fishmeal pellets. by copdock mill baits. they sink.

so it might be groundbait, i dont know. when i put it in they all went for it. especially the bigger one. the pellets are around 1cm.

now 30-40 mins later the fish have all become docile, aren't moving around much and are breathing quite heavily.

please someone tell me whats going on? have i fed them too much? is it too big for them? have i poisened them?

please help. i don't want to lose my little babies!

The pelets may have been too big for the goldfish to digest easily (as such pelets are more designed for large carp rather than smallish goldfish), they could be a bit constipated- you should avoid feeding them for the next couple of days just in case they are (don't worry goldfish can go for weeks without food so a few days of not been fed won't do them any harm) and just feed them a few chopped up de-shelled cooked pea's after the first day, you should also test your water quality too for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and ph to make sure that is all ok too  .

I wouldnt feed the to your axie either its not good for them earthworms are far better.
