3 danios and a male beta.

Brown algae in tank along the walls and on decoration.

Only natural light thru the day.

Tank: 2 gal Eclispe Explorer w/ Bio Wheel.

Yes, you've got a problem, you're overstocked  Get rid of the danios and just keep the betta ;)

that does sound kinda tight for 4 fish...

you could always buy a bowl for the betta ? or the danios :X

Poor dear must have been suffering this whole time. Nearly 3 years!

Thanks I will correct this.

Trade the danios for a couple of otos. Then your algae problem will go away in a few days. :)

No it is ambient light from across the dining room. The algea is on the closest to the window.

I am cleaning the tank today. With 100% water change and using Phos-x.

Don't clean the gravel or the wheel on the filter, that will crash your tank. Try to save a bit of the old water, too.

The danios are tiny. They never got to be more than at the most half inch. (body)

Well thats because such a small tank stunted thier growth and will makem live a shorter life

Well maybe since I was told that it would be ok to put them in this tank by the LFS I didn't think that I was doing any harm and since they are nearly 4 years old I feel very lucky!

Hopefully, they will like their new 29 (us) gallon aquarium once I get it setup.

I'm rather sure they're going to love it. And grow like wildfire when they're in there.

Thanks, I feel rather foolish for their suffering. I researched the Jeep I just bought way more thoroughly than the accomodations for my fish be/c I trusted the sales man at the store. Now I am going to treat all my puchases the same and make sure to research it well.
