Right since the last time i wrote about bubba red

I have well and truly caught the Betta Bug.

I have now acquired a 3rd Betta.

In My Sig, I will call him marbles as he is a marble veil tale.

NOW the fun bit.
Do not shout me down for this, but

I got 1 of those betta barracks that can hold 3-4 bettas and go inside the tank.

I Have devised a sytem that is working so far.

throughout the week i Alternate who is in the tank and who is in the Barracks.

ATM

Bubba Red Is in the Tank

Marbles was in the Barracks up to 1 hour Ago, He is now in the Main Tank with Bubba.

Bleu is in the Barracks.

So on Monday,

Bubba will be in the Barracks and Bleu and Marbles will the in the tank.

Wednesday Bleu and Bubba will be in the Barrack and
Marbles will be in the Main Tank.

NOW the question is -

THIS SHOULD NOT WORK AS THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO KILL EACH OTHER, HAVE I BEEN REALLY REALLY LUCKY IN THAT I HAVE MANAGED TO GET DOCILE MALES AND FEMALES OR JUST A FLUKE.

So far the system works. as they see each other and will flare at eac other and then the rest of the day the ones outside will be exploring the tank and the on in the barracks flares at the gouramis when they come close.

I Will post a pic of marbles later, Once i put him in a cup near the pc so I can get a decent pic.

PS I have got some Killi Fish, i think. They are A silvery green color with 2 dorsal fins that both flare and they are about 1" and have very long Crescent shaped Tails. There Dorsal and CSTales have red fringes.

I have gone thru all the pic on Killi.net, and can't find them but they really do resemble Killli Fish.

Do they look like this????? Your fish sounds like a blue panchax killi. Look it up on google, maybe that is it.

Sounds like alot of work but if the bettas aren't stressed that's cool!

Well, you may consider yourself lucky but...don't press your luck!

That's so much moving around, I won't be surprised if you see diseases developing soon. May your good 'luck' continue :)

Hi
thanks for the comments.

PS its not those in the pics. there mouths are tiny with a silver dot on their upper jaw. looking at them in more detail, there fins are arcked? and depending on lighting the fins look eiter red or black. but i did think of the panchax when i saw them the lfs had not labelled them ad thougt they were rainbow killi fish.

also they don't get moved around so much. as all i did is lift them from the tank water into the barracks. which is in the main tank in the corner.

Are those three in the pics the ones you are talking about?

If so, the reason why they aren't fighting is probably either a) two of them are female, or B) they are young enough males that don't "know" any better yet. If it's the later, I'd be keeping a close eye on them as they may "come to their senses" at any time. :D

Eventhough there isn't a long distance in moving them, it's still stressful to them. Just keep an extra close eye on em.

Hi

Those were pix of my new Betta Marbles, His twisted and bad looking fins have now opened out completely and he is a crown/comb Tail and not a Veil Tail as I 1st thougt.

The other is my Favorite Female Pearl, she is so much smaller than the other Females - I have 4.
Pearl is very cute and like to follow my fingers on the glass as wellas the ohter Females.

I think the Main reason that my Males Don't Fight is the ratio of Females to Males. 3 Males and 4 Females so they each have 1 female to occupy them. Or they are busy Lounging.

And they have never gone after any of my other fish. Not even my Swords who have gloriously long tails well over 2".

They have never gone after the ABfish or B.F.G as he is known.

The last Pix are of my new Rainbow Killis as told by LFS, But they are not those, Still can't find any pix or descriptions of them. But they are very vrey cool to watch. They shoal with the Cherrys/Neons/WMC and flare at themselves.

I am going to borrow a camera tonight after work and post some more detailed pix of the tank and all the fish.

PS Bubba Has now figured out how to get out of the barracks and will go back in by himself when he gets bored of the main tank.
He uses the turbulence created by BFG to go in and out.
