I currently have a tank that has a couple of frogs in a couple of shrimp and 4 tetra.....noticed this morning one of the tetra showing signs of whitespot...now as I understand the Ick treatment I have used on my other tanks, is not suitable for use with frogs and shrimp? So my question I could perhaps move my frogs and shrimps as I have a few tanks, am thinking at the moment, a tank that has a couple of mollies, a catfish, 1 dwarf gourami and 2 guppies in...but am not sure how they might get on with frog and shrimps? I also have a tank with fry in it, but am thinking shrimp or frogs may eat them?

Should I move them and treat the tank, or can I treat the tank somehow without moving them?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Debbie

Oops forgot to say I have interpet anti white spot that have treated my other tanks with, does say harmless to all species of fish except mormyrids.?

you should move them to a new tank. frogs and shrimps have different needs than fish. if its amano shrimp its ok because they hav been in saltwater before in their larval stage.

Ok....but will they be ok with the tank I suggested with molly, catfish, guppies and one Dwarf gourami? I am not sure what the shrimps are, but they are nearly transparent?

Thanks for the info

Debbie

After going on the internet, then yes I would say it is an amano shrimp as it is clear in colour with balck kinda specks on it, so will that be ok with the treatment and I can just move the frogs?

the frogs and shrimp will tranfers the whitespot to the new tank so make sure there are no fish in the new tank. If there are fish in it then monitor them for whitespot.
Triple sulpha treats most forms of whitespot and is safe for amphibians and crustaceans.

There are fish in the tank I was going to put them in, am running outta space as had to set up a new tank for some fry I had, will the other fish I have mentioned in the tank I am hoping to put them in be ok with frogs and shrimps, its quite a big tank with just 7 fish in?

mollies, guippis and dwarf gouramis should be ok but it depends on the catfish. Corydoras will be fine but bigger predatory catfish might eat the shrimp.

yep saw that. It looks like a bronze corydoras catfish and will be fine with the froggy and shrimp :)

the frog and shrimp can go back into their tank after the medication has been removed.
If you do daily 50% water changes for a week that will dilute the chemicals enough so it should be safe to put them back in. Make sure the new water is free of chlorine and has a similar temp & PH to the tank.
Don't start doing the water changes until after you have finished treatment.
