I lost a few of my silver hatchets during a move (They jumped out at some point cause they were spooked I guess) I have one little loner silver hatchet, but around here all I can find are marbled hatchets.

Will my lone silver hatchet school with four or five marlbed hatchets if I get them?

I'm wondering the same thing, I have two marbled hatchets and I want to know if they will school with glass hatchetfish. :)

Hmmmm, hopefully someone is around that has tried or knows about this, or I just might have to try it out and find out and let you know... though I would hate for my little guy to be a loner.

Marbled hatchets would be fine with glass hatchets, but silver hatchets seem to bully smaller species.

I've seen it in one of my lfs', 3 large silver hatchets were basically destroying the marbled hatchets, their tail fins were all ripped and they were cowering together in the corners.

Silver hatchets are nice peacful fish, but are boisterous between themselves, much more so than glass or marbled hatchets. Marbled hatchets cant really take this from large silvers.

So I personally wouldent reccomend keeping them together unless you had a large shoal of each :good: .

Ive not kept them together, but my guess would be similar to Three-fingers'. Id say you could do it if you get, say 6 marbeled and kept them with the one Sliver. If the silver is being aggressive to them, he shouldent be able to do too much damage to six of them on his own in the time it takes you to realise, and then move either the silver or the marbeled.
