I've got a Hastatus cory egg due to hatch tomorrow, possibly Saturday.
Now, peppered cory fry are tiny enough to begin with so I assume if all goes well this is going to be one tiny little dude?
I've got liquifry, which has worked really well with my peppereds so far.

Right now the egg is in an ice cream pot floating in the parents tank. Should I leave it there? Should I move the pot to my fry tank? Should I release the hatchling into my fry tank (with 4 peppered cory fry)?

Has anyone raised Hastatus cory fry?

Hatched Friday night - OMG if you thought regular cory fry were little... This tiny dude makes them look like "Andre the Giant"!
He's (she?) about this big -- maybe a touch shorter
Step 2 keeping him alive...

Well, little fry is now about doubled in size!
Pic is not great but if ya squint LOL...

Larger black dot is the head, then there's two more black dots along the length of the body.
It's an active little fry, so keeping fingers crossed here =)

Well so far so good.
This little wriggler is now in a cheesecake pot floating in the fry tank - he's got about 4oz water and gets 2x 50% water changes each day.
S/he seems to be thriving - is growing like a weed LOL :good:
I can actually see the eyes as seperate little black dots from the head now.

Yesterday the little fry escaped! I've no idea how but he ended up in the main fry tank.
Obviously, I now hardly see him/her LOL but it's around 7-8mm long bit still really tiny and almost see through except for the dark markings.

I hope he's alright, JustKia. As long as there's no one in there big enough to eat him, he has a very good chance of growing up.

He's safe =)
If not I'd have found him some how and moved him back.
It's a sponge filter, so no risk of getting sucked up.
There's 4 peppered fry - almost big kids now (maybe 3/4" or so) and will have to move to parent's tank some time I just want them to grow a bit more first, an endler that I think is going to be female (but I'm hoping for a male so it can go in my community tank too) and some albino eggs that I'm hoping hatch but not holding my breath.

I saw him lunchtime today and I swear he's had a growth spurt since escaping LOL

Yep, he's growing like a weed. Looks just like a miniature version of his parents now.
The black dots ahve joined and formed one thin line.
I think he's getting for about 12mm and has filled out nicely =)
He (I keep saying he, but I've really no idea LOL) has always been really active pretty much from the moment of hatching. He's always picking over the sponge filter with the juvi peppereds.
