I had to take the Betta out of the Danio tank. I had to switch around tanks and move everyone which stressed the Danios. Next time I walked in the room they freaked out and started bouncing off the walls. The Betta came over to check out the commotion and got cornered by panicking Danios (maybe someone bit him too, didn't see). So, he gave one of them a nip to the face. She's fine...not a mark on her but given the excitement level I yanked him out just to be safe. I was going to return him if things calmed down but it the Danios hid and hyperventilated for a good 15-20 minutes before I tried turning the lights off- hey it works with birds..and Danios apparently.

Anyway I left him overnight on his own and the Danios are still flipping out everytime I walk in the room. 2 hour memory limit...I think not. So, nobody's fault but if these Danios are going to have panic attacks on a daily basis it's not going to work out. Maybe when we get the 23g I will try again with something a little calmer in the 10g.

I think your danios would be much happier without their tankmate, and the betta probably would be too; right now, he obviously feels encroached upon by the other fish and feels the need to defend his territory. That can be very stressful for a fish day in and day out. Hopefully you have something you can put him in. If not, you could probably find a fairly cheap 5 gallon or something of the like for the betta boy. Then everyone will be happy.
