Have you ever for example had a male and female in a divided tank and when you were gone or weren't paying attention either the male or female jumped the divider and spawned?

Not me. I keep all of my bettas in their own tanks.

I guess that's the real question here.
I've had them spawn in grow out tanks, but no jumping. No dividing anymore, period. I've never had good luck with divided tanks.

My very first spawn was an accidental one in which the female jumped out of the breeding trap I had her in within the males tank as I wanted him to build a bubblenest. I was knew to bettas and didn't realise how well they could jump

I've since had some jump dividers in some tanks but luckily no spawnings. I'm slowly moving everyone around now so that I only have all male and then separate all female divided tanks so no more chances of any funny business
