So I just hlanced up at my tank after hearing my most annoying anonymous clicking culprit click again.. and I was rather shoced to see litrally hundreds of lil tiny *things* flying around my tank!! They're not the usual bugs that I usually spot in there! I've turned the powerheads off and they've all covered the surface of the water, with little legs thrashing around!!!

O have a varius snails/worms, a hermit, red legged hermit and a shrimp that I believe is a peppermint in there..

Do I just leave them?

I can't see in the picture but it's very possible the shrimp will repoduce, or was pregnant when you got it and it's lay it's eggs and they hatched!
Just leve then and see what happens. It's unlikely they will come anything more than a snack. You need marine snow or photoplankton to feed I think. Nemo is the girl you Wang for advice!!

yeah sorry about the pics! best I could get on my phone! lol they kinda look like they are a black and white striped, but my shrimp is red! The shrimp did appear to have a stomach fullof black balls when I first saw it, and now it hasn't! lol

Hmm are you sure they're not copepods or something?? Were the lights on or off?

Peppermint shrimp fry, 100% sure. If you only have one, it must have been carrying before you bought him.

Free food!

thanks nemo! and yes, they have all turned into a yummy snack over night lol!

The lights were on lewiss, I was quite sure they werent copepods, or or any of the usual bugs you see at night! I've often come down in the night and seen all sorts of things crawling/swimming around.. but I'd never seen anything like this before!

Oh cool!! Peppermint fry!! Shame they just get eaten!! Cool though!!
