I bought a bottle when pressed for time to clear up a little bit of my water however noticed on the bottle it appears to be harmful to beneficial bacteria however Its a little confusing though so has anyone used it before??

Just looked for it online, water changes and generally looking after the tank sounds a lot cheaper - why add another chemical to the tank that you dont need?

I copied this, dont kknow whats in it, but it wouldn't be allowed anywhere near my tanks

Contains beneficial bacteria that break down organic waste
- Breaks down organic pollution resulting from:
-- By-products of decaying matter
-- Film and sludge on decorations and accessories
-- Slime on glass
-- Protein film on top of water
-- Fish waste
--Plant leaf remnants

well my tanks are all cycled with healthy fish now but there is some decaying plant matter and other stuff in the water that I have done many water changes for very little result

you should be able to get any plant matter or crap off the sand when you vacuum it, I have never heard of that product and of all it sounds like is another way to make you part with money.

and if it really did all it said, we would be buying shares in the company....

see the decaying plant matter has clouded the water aswell as some on the bottom of the tank the problem is all the plant matter settles to a object such as a rock and settles to the base of the rock and when you move it all the plant matter spreads through the water and is near impossible to vacuum up as it's miniscule

sounds like you are cleaning too much and want it perfect, leaving some detrious in the water on the substrate is a goodthing as the plants will use the nutrients.

I honestly think its a waste of money, I have a discus tank with over £400 worth of discus alone in it and another tank with five C weitzmanis in it, like I said I wouldn't. Give it a go and lets see what its like if you want, I just am against it

I agree with paul.
Just another product on the market to make money, make fish keepers lazy, would rather put the hard work in then pay companies to rip fish keepers off.

Im not going to use it as I just viewed my tank and it's no where near as cloudy as it was yesterday..(I haven't really viewed my tank today)
there are no plants in the tank anymore it's merely dead leaves etc from when I treated the tank (power outage thingy hard to explain)

Sadly now I found a dead tiger barb even though it had nothing wrong with it yesterday at all the tanks cycled...perhaps my other tiger barb finally finished it off or perhaps it was my Rendahls catfish or anostomus anostomus...NO IDEA...bugger...

It seems losing fish is a given, and the only way I can learn

I treated my 100 usg with Mela and PimaFix, because it looked like one silver tip Tetra had mouth fungus. Well the silver tip is doing fine w/ still a white mouth. :look: But my agazassi red tip apisto and an emperor Tetra, worth infinately more and harder to replace, died with no symptoms. It was probably a result of treating the tank. :grr: Saved $3 to lose $50 :shout:
