hi i have got a 20 gal ready to stock and when i last went to petsathome they had tench and golden tench and silver mirror carp i was woundering if anyone had any of these fish and how hard are they to keep ??

they are all pond fish and IMHO, should never be kept in tanks; you would need at least (and I'm very likely underestimating) a 300 g tank for any of those fish

mirror carp are the best they get their beauty from koi and their hardiness from the carp lol they eat like everything
I think you mean Ghost carp;
Mirror carp are a natural species endemic to Europe.

am I not making myself clear :dunno:

Carp belong in ponds not tanks
it dosn't matter if it is a mirror carp, a ghost carp,
a cruscian carp or a goldfish. They are all pond fish.

Tough getting it in the 20! :p Bad idea.
Goldfish can be kept in suitable sized and well filtered aquaria. I deffinatley would limit them to outdoor ponds. Just as long as you have SUFFICIEnt equipment. Goldfish can grow large if you allow them the opportunity. And they look fantastic. :)
