Hi,

I have 3 Bala Sharks, sorry no pics. I'm pretty sure that I have one female and two males, I got them all at the same time and as they have grown two have stayed very streamline while the one who I think is female is plumper and slightly bigger.

I have noticed them bumping together before and the other week one of the males was flicking his front fins, independantly to one another in the direction of the female and was seriously all over her. Since then nothing. Has any one been succesfull in rearing young in captivity. All the info I have come accross has said no. Just wondered thats all.

Cheers :good:

PS sorry I should add has anybody else seen this behaviour, should I be getting excited?? Cheers

To the best of my knowledge, they have not been bred in captivity without the aid of injections.

i thought that i read somewhere that you cant breed bala sharks as they need such a huge amount of space to 'breed'

Thanks guy's, so ideally one would need a 700 litre tank with just the three of them on their own. Oh well unless I win the lottery, thing's will just have to stay as they are for the moment. Cheers :good:
