I bought a small school of harlequin rasbora for my tank not too long ago, and i've been noticing some odd behavior from them.
It seems like they're doing some sort of courting.
What happens is two rasbora swim parallel to each other and sit there. Then, they start shaking their tail fins at each other, and then they nearly brush each others heads, and flick apart. After that, they start again. But it's not like it's been once or twice, they've been doing it all week! And they do it for nearly ten minutes at a time.
I did record it, but i recorded it weird so it can't go on the computer. I intend to record this behavior again, but whenever I catch them doing it again, and if i can get them on youtube or something will be the question.
What's your guys' opinions?

i know this is old. but i didn't get a reply to my post about it either.

my rasbora do that..and one of them swims upside down and does that shake under the leaves of my plants. i saw video of them breeding, and that is what they do..but no one will come mate with him/her :( poor guy/gal haha.

i'd love to see them breed and try and hatch some eggs..but i can't figure out why no one will breed with the one that does it.

what ever happened with your rasbora

mine do that werid little wiggle also and i kinda think it might just be playing with each other haha. or some type of dominance thing maybe..but i guess probalby courting. it's really neat to watch, they stick all their fins out and just sit there and wiggle at each other
