Hardy Colorful Freshwater Inverts?

I was wondering what are some neat colorful freshwater invertabrates I could get that are of decent size. I am planning on getting a new tank so any suggestions?

whats with the infux of people asking the exact same question.

Shrimp aren't particularly hardy creatures but if you go with Amano's or Cherry shrimp to start with they are quite cheap and wonderful characters. Personally would go with Amanos although they aren't the most colorful they are not prolific breeders so your tank won't become rapidly dominated by them. After a couple of months keeping them and you feel competent then add some more specialist shrimp like the sulawesi or crystal red shrimp.
