Today I bought two cory cats from the fish store I work at. :) I now have them in my 44 gallon with my peruvian altum and a betta. I needed a bottom-feeder to clean the sand so that it would not start to collect food wastes. I have to say I didn't really like cory cats at fist but now I do think that some how they are cute. And now I have named both of the corys... The skunk cory cat is called Gus and the spotted is called Sophie. :fun: I don't know if I should lower the temperature in the tank to 78F because right now it is 82F for the Peruvian because they love high temperatures and all.

Congrats on the new cories,
But(theres always a but)
It seems to me you have two different species of cory.
What you need to do is get more cories of the same species as they like to be in schools.
So you need 4-6 Spotted and 4-6 Skunk cories.
They are alot more active and atractive in schools of the same species and will do a better job at eating off the bottom.

Im not so sure on the different species of cories not schooling together. I have 3 different species of Corydoras (C.aeneus, C.leucomelas, C.paleatus) and they will school together quite often. They even school with my porthole catfish. This could be due to them all being very young when I got them and they have been together most of thier lives. Its great to see 15 cories all schooling together through out the tank. It might depend on the species.
