Birthday time for the little guy, one year old today! He really has turned out to be a good dog, gets along with everyone, as well as other dogs, very unterrier like.

Thought I’d do a little photo progression of him from the first year, I think we have more pictures of this dog than we do of our kids.

This is from the weekend when we first got him, first week of July. He was 8 weeks old, typical puppy;

A couple of weeks later, ears are starting to come up;

4 months old, I hope we grow into those ears;

5 months old, just had dewclaws done, along with being snipped & chipped;

7 months old, we love the snow, and we’re starting to grow some fur;

My Christmas gift, I’m well behaved enough at almost 8 months old to start sleeping on the bedroom floor if I like;

We had a little party last weekend, it was my son’s birthday earlier in the week, and Kaz was having a birthday in a week, so they shared. You know I was hanging on when he’s within licking distance of an ice cream cake;

He has ended up being such a well behaved and well balanced little guy in a year, probably the easiest to train out of all the terriers I have owned over many years. He is just as happy hanging out with me working with power tools as he is visiting at the nursing home, or napping in bed watching tv.

Happy Birthday Kazimer!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAZ!!!! :bday:

He is such a cutie pie :wub: , and I'm glad to hear he's working as a therapy dog. Cute fuzziness like that should be shared with all.

Tail docked at birth, breed standard for an Australian Terrier. I believe in the UK & Australia they leave the tail undocked for legal reasons.

Awwww Happy belated birthday Kazimeras. He's a cheeky looking little guy :D and you don't see them very often. Can I nominate the one of him in the snow for POTM???

The UK brought in the docking ban from April of last year although I know of people that showed their Australian Terriers undocked before this.

I have a Sandy Red one by default. Rusty was a rescue I got yrs ago and was told he was a cross. I found out 6 yrs later that he is an AT. He's 14 now and still as healthy as ever. They are great little dogs with so much personaility. I wanted to use him a a therapy dog but not sure if he is too old now.

Here he is after a hair cut.

Ahh, another Aussie owner! :good: They are few & far between, we had to drive nearly 4 hours north to find a breeder who had the same ethics about breeding as we do. I've been working on hand stripping with this guy rather than clipping. It is a bit more work, the end result really shows off the coat.

I don't think there are any age limits for therapy dogs, if it is something you & your dog would enjoy, I say go for it. The smaller terriers seem to act young forever.

The Miracle Grow was the trick, he is a massive 15 pounds now, just huge. :lol: He is so big he wants to try out for the football team;
