Hi, I may get a 24g nano cube with 150w halide. The only problem is overheating, it should be fine in my freezing house during winter/spring/autumn, but I am worried about the summer (obviously) I know I will not be able to buy a chiller, and so I was wondering is there alternative ways to cool down the tank. I was thinking reducing the photoperiod but wouldn't this be awful for corals in the tank? Also, I was thinking about putting the light 'up' a bit, but again how far would it have to go to get an optimum between brightness and cooling?

thanks

Well, the photoperiod can go as low as 6 hours without harming the health of your corals.

I'd have the light at least 6"-12" off the water and point some fans at it to remove the heat
