sounds personal doesnt it  anyway. I got a large rock of really colorful zoa's for free from my LFS because of a huge amount of hair algae on it. it covers almost half of the rock/zoas.

whats a good way to help the CUC along with out waiting for them to completely clean the algae off?? i am impatient.

thanks

The only way to eradicate it for good is to have low nutrient levels (nitrates, silicates, phosphates, etc.) and plenty of competition (especially the more noxious soft corals such as Sarcophyton). Few clean up crew members will eat it but lettuce nudibranchs, lawnmower blennies, and sea hares all will. The biggest concern for them, in my opinion, is starvation, so be sure to give them to someone else when they run out of algae.

Yeah, and Sea Hares and Lettuce Nudis tend to get trapped/killed on powerhead inlets... Foam covering is a must for these
