hairy stuff in tank (!)

Erm, loads of my plants have hair or something growing from them. I don't think it's normal. Any suggestions on getting rid of it?

Sounds like algae, cut down on lighting and don't overfeed.
Make sure you do regular water changes

I have that on my plants too. I think it's called thread algae. I don't think it's harmful.

I think I'll just take mine out (they are plastic) and scrub them real good.
