how long has it been in the tank?

Got pics?

what's the salinity? and more importantly, have you calibrated/verified your salinity measuring device recently?

The mushroom was a new addtion over the weekend, salinity is 1025, refroctometer was calibrated 4 weeks ago all other corals are looking fine.

dont matter

Well, tough to say without pics but it might just be sulking still from it's transportation. Either that or it's experiencing predation of some kind.

I can confirm mine suffered under predation from a red eyed crab.

I lost that lot and had to buy some more once the crab was evicted.

The mouths looked like they had a stringy substance coming out just before they melted.

Moved the mushroom to higher flow looks a lot better but its on the sand do they like the sand or not ?

Thanks Tina I know some corals dont like substrate was just making sure :)

Hmmm ok the hairy mushroom is doing really well now its in better flow, but now one of my Rics was contracting till I moved him away from the hairy one, also my Duncan is not opening properley they are down stream as so to speak from the hairy do these produce toxins like the leather etc?

If so will carbon help (Moved the 2 effected corals)

Carbon never goes a miss in mixed softy, lps set ups. Not sure about the hairies but my tongan mushies are murder, taking out almost everything they touch. Rics definately don't like to be near mushies as the mushies always push them out either chemically or by contact..
