got alot of hair algee growing on my plants, what can i do to help prevent this? is there ant kind of fish i can get?

Not sure what fish would be good, but I've used Interpet's Anti-Hair Algae treatment and it works a treat - dose the tank for the first week, then once every 4 weeks thereafter - haven't had a problem since.

algae is a great indicator that there is something up with the balance in your tank...

for hair algae
High Nitrates (eg lack of water changes) is a good cause.
Too much lighting is another cause.

hope this helps

it is a false economy to buy fish to 'help' with algae problems as thier waste will actually improve the conditions for algae

as a last resort, mollys are keen eaters of hair algae. ;)

some shrimp, like ghost and cherry shrimp, will eat hair algae and a few other types of algae as well.

think i was leaving my light on for too long. ive cut this down quite a bit for now, hope that will help.
