how do u get rid of it my tank is got lots of it, my lights are on 12 hours a day mabe thats why? but if i turn them off would that not affect my plants
If it's the very long type (not the short beard type), the easiest way to get rid of it is to wind it around an old toothbrush or filter brush, that will pop it off at the attachment site. Keep winding up and discarding any that you can you see, every day, for a couple weeks and it should disappear.
I have the same most unwanted algae in my tank, its very little but I think mine is due the our water as it has more that 10pmm NO3, so my water in my tank is mostly over 50ppm
