 Hi all, does anyone have these cories, Im getting them in 2 weeks they will be 6-8 months old, any info would help, thanks :good:

I got 15 over the last 3 weeks. The first 6 went into my endler tank and I liked them so much there that I went back to the store 2 weeks later and bought all 9 that they had left. Those 9 went into my fry tank because I had watched them in my endler tank and noticed that they were not even tempted by the tiny endler fry in there. That solved my problem of how to feed my fry enough without worrying too much about a build up of food on the bottom of the tank. They are very active and swim about through the entire lower 2/3 of the tank. In my situation they are being kept in moderately hard water at about 25C and a pH of about 7.6. It is not the ideal conditions for them but they seem to be doing very well and are a delight to watch.

:hyper: Thanks oldman47 for your reply, I think Im going to put them in their own tank , the breeder said they can breed in a month or so after I get them, of course with the proper care ! :good: He said the parents can stay with the fry, they dont grow as fast but its easier :shifty:

I have 6 in my 54 litre livebearer tank. They are doing great :) They seem to be happy taking flake food from the substrate but seem particularly partial to bloodworm :)

Just make sure you have a nice sandy substrate to protect their mouths when they are routing about :)

:shout: Hi all I received my fish yesterday, all made it except 1 the bag had a leak. Wow there small I put them in a 10 gallon with a sand substrate, they are cute and swimming good. Does anyone have experence breeding them, it looks like I have 2 F + 6 M. The females are fat and 6-7-8 months old . :good: They are F1 fish..

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying them, I think they are cool to just watch. An abundance of males like you have is what the experts seem to recommend on most cories. They are something I've never bred but it sounds like at least that part would be right.
