how often should i change my goldfishes water and should i get him a friend to keep him company?

How long has the tank been running?
What kind of filter and how many litres does it turnover?
How many gallons is your tank, and is it tall or long?
What size is your fish?

do you have a quarantine tank for a new fish as it will probably be carrying a disease or parasite that you arent aware of?

Usually its around 30% per week, but that is oly is its a tank suitable for the fish. If its too small, then you do more water changes in a week.

If the tank is big enough you should definitely get it a friend . I always see my goldfish hanging around with each other and it is always good to have company!
