came back from a car show today to find me male bn dead 
it was stuck in the external filter pipe as the strainer had come off tank readings are ok exept ph which was off the chart so im putting everything in to my new tank tonight only being running 4 days which is a bummer as its not yet cycled but i have no other choice as i have no other way of lowering the ph yes i could do a water change but where i live the ph is around 8.2 then when aireated jumps up to about 8.6 so i have to use r o water which costs me a fortune when i fill a tank from scratch
waters that hard would put up a good fight with mike tyson
got a filter in the new tank fluval 4 plus but going early tomoz to get some longer pipes for me external filter and some other bits and bobs
