About keeping my betta in a community tank ....

He was completely fine, and so were the other fish up till last night.

I was watching them last night, and the bettas back fins are slightly ripped, and one of my guppies has what appears to be a bite mark in his tail!

I will be moving him as soon as i can, however is there anything i can do atm? I took some of the plants out when the fry were born so i could put the breeding trap in there. Am i right in thinking if i put more plants in there, then there will be places for them to hide?

Also (uk people) where can i get a half decent 2 gallon tank for him? I understand one gallon is the minimum, but they look too small for me! he is in a 50 gallon tank at the moment, and looking quite misrable :-(

is 2 gallon too much of a down size in tank for him?

thanks, sorry for the essay!

i orderd one of pet-supermarket.co.uk very fast delivery and cheap..cheaper than shops by a tonne

A 2 gallon tank would NOT be too much of a downsize for him! The tradeoff in space will be worth it to both him and you, because, even though he can't swim as far in one direction, he'll still be on his own and unbothered by the Guppy.

Adding some more plants would be a great idea. It should give them more places to hide, plus it'll decrease their view of each other, which, frankly, is often a very good thing.
