If you have males in there then the females will be pregnant :/

They'll start to look fatter and you'll see a dark patch called a 'gravid spot' just in front of the anal fin (that's the single fin, near the fishes 'bottom')
The dark spot is actually the baby fish's eyes :)

thank you that is very helpful they both have these gravid spots there, do they give there fry all at once or do they hold back with some.

They'll have them pretty much all at once; usually at night so you don't often see it happen.
The parents will eat the fry if they can, so you'll need to either put the females in a breeding trap (not recommended; it's stressful for the mother and can cause her to give birth prematurely) or have lots and lots of fine leaved plants for the fry to hide in (the best way).

Floating plants are better because the fry have a tendency to swim near the surface.

Ah! Yes, I should have said that! Thanks mrs biffster :)
My mum breeds guppies and she uses tanks that are just a jungle of cabomba that trails all across the water surface (well, it fills the whole tank tbh!)

I used to breed wild strain guppies and they bred in abundance. I used to keep them in a species tank all of there own. The thing is these guppies never ate there fry so the tank became over populated.

Ah, guppies, the rabbits of the fish world...
I know they're not as bad for eating their fry as platies and swordtails, but that is interesting :)

Ours were in a "female only" tank when we bought them. All 6 were pregnant!! They have them in batches. If all the females have fry one day and they all get eaten don't despair. Chances are that after a couple of weeks your tank will be full of them.
