I bought these fish last thursday .. 2 female and one male guppy from a differnent shop where I bought the other ( non of which have become ill or died) The male got chased terribly by the females. so I seperated them, but I fear it was too late he was dead the following day :( Then I founf out both females were pregnant one ver y much so with what looks like only a week to go :look: Now just turned on the lights and the larger gupy ( I put a pick in the live bearers thread about if she was preggers) her tail had been nibbled by the younger one .. now it looks like its rotting .. having lost all its colour and gone a strange whitish about half way up the fishes body  .. Scary stuff.. the poor little fish..
Any ideas to what it could be? And what is the best action to take..i.e will it spread to the rest of the fish? The other smaller female who is well pregnant looks fine.

Please help.
Oh yes.. checked all the water.. Amonia, nitrite and nitrate are all zero and the tank is cycling well. and no other signs of problems with the other fish

Sounds like fungus to me. That can happen after they get hurt. Adding salt always cleared up the fungus whenever I had it. I used it on oscars, guppies, firemouths and gouramis before with great results.

Is that the Aquarium salt you can buy from pet shops etc?
Just surfing on the net to find some answers.. and it mentioned this salt. also mentioned raising the temerature of the water a little too.. currently at about 76/77.

I think the temp is just right. Yes, I was talking about aquarium salt. Works great!!!
