This might have been covered here before, but I did a search and could not find it. My guppy (the same one I mentioned before who has had a stroke or something and is dying) had another batch of babies - for the second time in two months with no other fish in her tank! When I got her, she was pregnant and she had the babies and I managed to rescue most of them from her. But then a month later she had more and she ate them because I did not know she was pregnant again. Then today I was cleaning her little tank and there were about 10 dead babies in there, who were not there two days ago... I have never had this happen with my guppies before. Is this common???

Perhaps they can store the sperm within their bodies and use it when the time is right..

Welcome by the way, they're all a pretty cool, friendly bunch here!!

:D

;) Hi cami, welcome to the forum. Guppies and other livebearers can store sperm for months internally, you can get quite a few broods from a female previously fertilised. Mac.

Craziness! None of my previous guppies have pulled this trick on me. Good things humans can't do that, I think...
