Guppy tankmates?

I'm getting a new 55 gallon, but I'm a but confused as to the fish to put in Right now I've decided on some guppies, but can anyone recommend tankmates other than the usual mollies, swordtails and platys?

I can tell u not to get a betta...they will mistake the guppy as a juvinile betta and kill it in a heartbeat ...

Besides other livebearers, there are neon tetras, skirt tetras, danios, and cories. If you wanted variety, then you could get a crab or two. I've got one with my guppies, and they do great!

I've always wanted a betta, but never really considered keeping one. I don't really have the budget to go out and buy a whole new setup for just one fish

In one of my tanks, I have guppies with Betta's..no problem encountered and they also have kuhli loaches and clown loach as roomies. The other tank has danio's, catfish, alga eater and white cloud mountain minnows with teh guppies and they are al very happy. Good luck!

I think hatchetfish are pretty cool. Good for topwater dwellers Too.
