Guppy Just Gave Birth Last Week, But..

Her gravid spot is also huge, I don't' know how well the pictures show that. Does she look boxy to you?

How many did she have, was it allot of fry or not so much? If it was a massive batch then most female guppys start getting deterioration and quite often die.

She had around 21. All are really healthy and quite big.

Looking from the above shot I think she's had her fry and she will proberly ready to drop again in a few weeks. Is she acting normal and does she still look fat

I have two very very big and very very healthy females that couldn't be more different. One has smaller batches (10-20) and after birth she shrinks down beautifully. The other has larger births (30-50) and her gravid spot (which is clear) remains very close to the same size as it is just before birth. She has had about 5 batches of fry. So, they don't all shrink, and not shrinking doesn't mean there is nessessarily anything wrong with them.

Here is a picture... the one on the left is the one that has smaller batches and is pregnant in this picture and close to dropping. The one on the right has just dropped a big batch of fry and always remains looking this big!

that usually happens if the female guppy is quite old..but for young breeder they can still give you hundreds of fry. you just need to give the right food.

She sometimes hides, but she is eating normal and hangs with the other female, how might have her fry soon.

Your fish is looking large and well fed but not far along in carrying her fry. She looks like a nice normal healthy female to me.
