I also posted this on the fish emergencies page. I have a 10 gallon tank with : 4 neon tetra, 7 glowlight tetra, 2 female guppys, 1 male guppy. One female guppy had her babies about a week ago. ( I didn't know she was even pregnant) Had just bought them the day before. So I left the fry in the 10 gallon and floated some plastic plants, I've counted about 6 or 7 that have survived.
Here's my problem. I just saw the first signs of ich on my neons and one of the female guppys has white poo ( internal parasite). The owner of the pet shop down here gave me Para Guard and said it would work on both of these parasites. the bottle only says for external parasites. the name brand is Seachem. So I think I need to buy something else for the internal parasites???? I'm debating on whether or not to move the guppy fry to a non- cycled 2 1/2 gallon tank. Any suggestions. Is this a good or bad idea?? any comments would be appreciated. water tests fine.

i would move the guppy fry into the 2 gallon tank just to be safe because they might catch the ich

The tank is un-cycled and I can't for obvious reasons add things from the other tanks to cycle it faster. I'm worried about losing them. In the situation they are in now and in the 2 1/2 gallon uncycled. Just not sure what is best in this case. More advice would be apreciated. I'm feeling guilty and need more reassurance I'm doing or going to do the right thing.

sorry i'm really dum :S i think i no what un-cycled means  but not that sure :dunno: .when my guppy had her first fry  i took them out and put them in a lunch box because i didnt have any spare tanks :) i now have a 2.5 gallon tank for them :D and some people say thats too small   :grr:  just put them in a container  they should be alright as long as its not for a long time though :) .

uncycled means high spikes of ammonia and nitrites. But I guess frequent water changes would help with that. I just don't know anything about guppy fry. Can they handle it, are they pretty tough. Thanks for the advice paige.

u already no that i am dum i dont no any of these words yet i just take good care of my fish i dont take any notice of wat these things r called.what r high spikes of ammonia and nitrites.i bet i no what ur thinking now.is she thick or something.

No i don't think that, cause when I had tanks 10 years ago, I didn't know anything and had good luck. Now I'm overrun with info and still don't know what to do. lol Ammonia is from their poo and pee. I can't remember nitrites, but not good either.

i dont no weither this would work :dunno: but why dont u take all the stuff out :fun: put new water in and give everything a good wash :D .dont think it would work or u already would of done that. :S  :S

i dont no :dunno: but is it true that ur not supposed to change the whole water in the tank because it affects the pump :S .

You do not change all the water because it is like starting your tank all over again.
yeh but would it do any damage to the water when u put it back in and does it affect the pump.

The water you would put in would be new water and it would not dammage the pump, but you run the risk of getting "new tank disease". The fish could get more stressed out and die.

Thanks for all the responses. I've decided to leave things the way they are. The treatment hasn't seemed to affect the fry. :) I guess now I just wait. -_-
