Can't sex your fish without a picture
wink.png

However, all livebearers are easy to sex. Look at the anal fin; that's the one on the fish's stomach, just in front of the tail. If it's a normal, fan shape, then he fish is a female. If it's got a long, rod type fin (called a 'gonopodium'), then it's a male.

All livebearer fry start out looking female, and develop the gonopodium later, so your fry might not be old enough to sex yet.

If you're worried about them growing properly, you need to make sure your tank is big enough, and that you do lots of water changes; old and dirty water will stop them growing.

Photos a bit blurry. My guppies can't be sexed till they are over one inch long (1 month old) that's when the males start developing and getting there colours and can be separated so there is no inter breeding. I will only cross breed if the young have something I want to develop.

I think these fry are too young to be showing their sex yet.

And there's no real way of telling what colour they will be; you'll just have to have some patience

fluttermoth thanks for replay , its my guppy in good groth rate ????

Guppy fry are normally sexable at around six to eight weeks old. You have to watch them closely, and take out any males as soon as you spot them. You'll see the anal fin thickening before it turns into a mature gonopodium, so you can usually separate them before they can get any females pregnant.

Your fry look a good size for 30 days old. How big is your tank and how often and how big are your water changes?

Good sized tanks then
smile.png
So many people think that because fry are small, they can be raised in very small tanks!

Just make sure you do plenty of water changes, as guppies produce a hormone that stunts their growth, if it reaches a certain concentration.

i change 20% of water every week , its Enough ؟؟؟؟؟؟؟

I normally do 50% every day on fry tanks. You should certainly do more than 20% a week. As long as the new water is warmed and dechlorinated, you can't really do too many water changes.

yeah clean water heat and small meals 4-5 times a day.  baby brine shrimp and aquarium salt helps their growth.  As far as sexing, that is easier to do around 2-3 months old, dont worry they don't try to mate until 3-4 months anways....trust me.  Ive had many "females" turn out to grow a gondipoduim at 3 months old.

Females do not grow gonopoduims

All Livebearers start out looking like females. The anal fin is fan shape

as they mature the males develops a gonopoduim  usually’ by the age of 3 months.
