I have a 20 gallon tank with 2 male Guppies and several Mollies.

My 2 Guppies have some of there tails missing. All of my other fish's tails are perfectly fine. The Guppies "play" together a lot. Swimming around each other, but I have not seen any fin nipping by either of them or by any of my other fish to them.

I have not tested my water lately (Im out of test strips), but my Mollies are breeding like crazy so Im guessing that the water is fine. No fish deaths in several weeks.

Is there some Guppy tail issue and will it spread to my other fish?

thanks all :)

if it is infact fin rot i would say do a water change and keep an eye ont eh parameters. but i have on occasion turned teh light off and gone to bed only to wake up to some of my male guppies missing half of there tails. all over night... they do play a fair bit between themselves but dont all males?? lol.... i wouldnt worry bout it... dont medicate until you have noticed your other fish have got teh same problem OR the males that have torn tails.... (if the tails seen to be getting shorter and shorter then i would assume fin rot.) treat then.... just wait awhile before medication because alot of medications kill off some of you beneficial bacteria in your filters... also a quick hint: if you have any carbon in your tank. remove before medicating and discontinue useage until teh medication process is complete. (reason for this is that carbon removes most medications from the water)....
sorry for teh long reply.
