I know guppy doesn't lay eggs but mine just did. Will it hatch to become fry later on?

Can we see a pic of your fish? Those didn’t come from a guppy. Did you see the fish lay them? What else do you have in there? The eggs do look fertile so they should hatch.

It's possible she miscarried the eggs. I've read about that happening before, usually when the fish is really stressed (like being moved to a breeder box). If so, eggs are likely not viable.

Guppies aren’t egg layers though. She would be carrying live fry. We all come from eggs so I suppose it could happen. They look large though more like goldfish eggs. I’d love a pic of the mother. If she is a guppy then the eggs won’t hatch. Sorry.

Female livebearers do have eggs and they are fertilised inside the female's body when she decides to fertilise them with a sperm packet she has collected and stored from a male. The baby fish develop inside the eggs until they are ready to hatch, then they hatch out and the female goes into labour.

If the female gets stressed out, she can expel the eggs prematurely. These can sometimes survive and the hatch when the developing embryos have formed.

If the eggs in the breeding net are from a guppy, they will take about 4 weeks to hatch, if they are fertile.

So I will have to wait for 4 weeks before it can become fry? This is her 2nd or 3rd. Before that all came out as fry.

So the eggs won't hatch into a guppy? Just want to make sure so that I will my remove my guppy from the hatching box.

@Colin_T . Why does this happen?
Usually stress. People regularly catch gravid guppies and put them in small breeding traps. The females can be stressed when they are chased around the tank with a net, they can be injured when they are lifted out of the water, and they stress out when put into a small container with no plants to hide in.

Imagine if a pregnant human was chased by something 100 times her size. Then she was caught in a net and dragged underwater for 20-30 seconds. Then she is dumped into a small glass room where she is expected to give birth. How would she feel?
Fish go through the same thing.

Female livebearers normally hide in plants when they are close to labour. This offers them some protection from predators and gives them some peace and quiet to go through the birthing process. If you stick the fish in a small bare container, they regularly freak out and can go into premature labour. Then they might drop eggs or young, and they might or might not survive.

You are right and actually I didn't want to confine her under this condition. My fish tank is quite crowded and also don't think she got any room to deliver the fry.

That’s very interesting, I have never heard that... :dunno:
