Has anyone ever seen or heard of a disease that just solely affects guppies (particularly the males). The tail just completely goes until only the very fine skeleton of the tail is left. No fungus is present, every other fish in the tank is fine. All the water parameters are great. Any ideas?

That what you described is finrot!!!! due to poor water quality usually but could be introduced into the tank through a recent addition to the tank, have you bought any new fish lately?

I have bought some new fish lately but they had been in quarantine at my lfs. It's only on one fish though. Pretty certain it's not poor water quality.

Ammonia - 0
pH - 7.0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 12mg/l
Temp -78

Most odd I'll see what i can "fish" up for you...

I lost about a dozen guppies mostly male a few weeks back.

According to my lfs they died of something that he called Singapore Guppy Disease.

Apparantly it only affects singapore guppies and mainly the males. I HAD both singapore & Sri Lankan in my tank, and it was only the singapore ones that died.

The fish were fine then one by one they acquired a white band of what looked like either fungus or eroded scales around their bodies, within a day or so of this band then they were dead. Even now if I was to get any singapore guppies they would most likely catch it as it stays in the tank until it is disinfected.

I wasn;t able to find anything by this name on the internet but it may be the same thing.

Thats interesting :) to know coz i experienced the same thing myself and it didnt matter how i treated them nothing was working, it killed 6 of my males totally in a mater of 2 days very quick and aggresive disease.
