I have a five gallon tank with three male guppies and snail currently residing in my quaint little tank. I got all males because the guys at the LFS said it would be okay but I didn't know at the time that males were even aggressive (I have always been told that guppies are docile). I was looking in my tank today and notice all three tails look like pieces have been nibbled off! Is there anything I can do to to tone down the testosterone?
I am currently getting together the funds to put plants in my tank and a light that can sustain said plant life. Will that help? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Well plants always help but to be honest in a 5 gallon tank with three males your most likely always going to have some aggression issues it's just a very small space for them to get along in.
So best advice I'd give is get yourself a bare 10 gallon tank from petsmart or petco when they have there next $1 per gallon sale and just move all the stuff from the 5 gallon you have now into it then get plants and lighting for it as you can that's the best thing you could do but if you can't do that try to really put a ton of plants in the 5 gallon that should help some :)

As has been said adding plants and caves will help. If you can get a 10g that'd be great too, and PetCo is having their 1$/gal sale now I think. :)

Are you getting plants at your LFS or online? They're usually cheaper online so that might be an option you want to look at.

I live in a dorm room so a 10 would be too big (my five gallon is a hexagon so it doesn't take up a lot of space width wise). I actually have two plants in there right now but one is almost dead because I don't have the right lighting for it :/. As soon as I get the funds together I'll had a couple more plants. Thanks for the advice :)

Keep 2 instead of 3 guppies. Rehome the 3rd fish. Even number helps.

I'm not sure that's the best advice. With just two there'll be a dominant fish that will chase after the other one all the time.

Guppygirl can try it. Probably a good thing in her situation where she can't keep a 10g and before giving up completely it can be given a shot. Removing one fish will also make it less cramped. Even number is recommanded because they tend to pick up friends sometimes like mine have done. One of my guppy is timid and is always chased by a specific another from day one. They have ended up friends.
