Can I mix breeds of guppies. I have very small guppies and in the shop they are at least three times as big. Will I mix these tigether knowing how Guppies breed or do they have to be the same type or at least size?
Sorry probably stupid but well it's asked. At least on here I am am not as red faced for all to see as in shop.

Yeah mixing guppys species/types is fine, but you will still need to have the right gender ratios as they'll breed with each other- you need at least 2-3 females per male, and even more than that is advised females if you are going for more than 3males- remember to leave extra space in your tank as guppys are notorious for breeding on a regular basis and its easy to become overstocked with babys/fry.
How many gallons is your tank and what is your current fish stocking?
There is also another livebearer species called "Endlers" and they look similar to guppys, they will crossbreed with each other but endler/guppy hybrids aern't very diserable and its best that if you have endlers, to keep them pure, as they will be worth a lot more that way and will be much easier to rehome them for free  .
