Noticed about half a dozen guppy fry hiding amongst the floating plants yesterday. Was really pleased as these are my first!
I have decided to let nature take it's course as I won't have room for loads of guppies so it's survival of the fittiest
There were at least three still around this morning - two in the plants and one in the shallow water above the internal filter body - crafty little one has worked out that the other fish find it difficult to fit in that space
There may still be others as I have quite a good mass of floating plants in the tank at the moment as I was just about to replant the plantlets from my sword and the plecs have managed to up root the Egeria Densa again. There is also some java moss on a bit of mopani wood for them to hide in. I will post a couple of photos of the tank shortly.
I doubt whether any of them will survive longer term as I added some Algea Eating Shrimp on Saturday (all at least 15mm long) and they had all seemed to disappear within a couple of hours. Not sure what could have eaten them as the seemed too large for the mouths of anything in the tank I am quite disappointed about that as they were a really nice addition to my clean up crew.
Cheers, Eddie
