Hey guys! Today my 1.5 month old guppies came in the mail. I won them for free in a ROAK contest! Currently they are in a 5 gallon sterilite tub. It's filtered with a top fin 10 HOB with DIY CO2. I was thinking of taking out the CO2. They came insulated and well. One extra was added to compensate if there was a DOA and luckily for me one died so I still had 6, the amount I won. They're just standard guppies, but still! They're real cute. The bag actually leaked a bit.

The tank has a cool stone decoration with some PVC fittings and blue gravel. I have giant duckweed growing in it. I plan to add other plants like hornwort.

My CO2 system, I am beginning to think, is unnecessary. I might just take it out. It's 2 cups sugar, some rice, and 1/2 teaspoon yeast. It works, but I'm scared it will suffocate the fish. I am not looking to dive into the CO2 system yet. It's doing something like 1 bubble per 1.5 seconds directly from the airline tube. Is there a chance of my fish suffocating from it?

Anyways, they seem really happy! I am hoping others will be interested in my journey with them. I hope it's what I asked for: 2 males and 4 females. So hard to tell.

I will be posting pictures soon!

Looking forward to watching them grow from young develope & get colour

So I have been doing some reading online and I will be feeding them 4-5 times a day with a 50% water change every 1-2 days. The tank isnt cycled.

For food Im going to be crushing up my Tetra Flakes.

How old will they have to be until they breed?

When I see a pregnant girl, I'll move her to the 7G or a separate container. Possibly I will move the filter and everything to the 7 because its bigger and use the 5 for fry. I dont know why I bought a breeder box...What can I do with it now?

And use the 5 gallon as a fry growout.

my cute alarm just went off here it goes awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I have been feeding them! I have already fed them 4 times. I crushed up some flakes and I used a wet pipette tip to transfer. They love it!

When would they be at age to start breeding? They're currently 2 months old. I want to know so I can be on the look out for pregnant ones!

I am planning on going and getting some daphina or some live foods for them and my other foods. I want to go to Central Park and try and collect some daphina, but theres some ducks in the huge pond there; so I am worried i might get some bad stuff. How do I know if the daphina I collect is safe?

Nice set up.  I look forward to the updates.

I did a water change today. Going to do another on tuesday/wednesday. Then again on sunday. I have fed them 4 times already. Once more...

Going to do water change. Bit off schedule! I had tests but now they're over! :)

I will be uploading individual pics of them in cups for all to see up close. :)
