Been away from this forum for a while as we have been busy with all the guinea pigs that are in need at this time of year! If you are thinking about getting a guinea pig and are in the east anglia area please check out our website

We have 33 guineas at present and several are looking for their forever homes.

Hectic this time of year!! Still getting calls but no room at the Inn as it were. Nice to see you here had not ,ade the connection that you are a fish fanatic too :)

I would love one, but I live in Canada lol. But I am wondering (since I will be getting one in a few months) If they have the same hair/fur as bunnies or cats? Because I am allergic to cats and bunnies, and would hate being allergic to my guinea. :'(

My other half is allergic to cats and bunnies and before we moved in together I had him standing near and handling as many cavies as possible to check he would be not be allergic to them, (love me, love my guineas!) he has no problem with guinea pigs even though cats and rabbits set him off straight away. I would try handling guinea pigs and standing near their cages (to check the hay and bedding don't set you off) before considering getting your own guinea pigs. It would be heartbreaking if you got a guinea then had to re-home it due to allergies.

LOL yes 3 tanks

I am also turning piggies away as i am full to bursting and a waiting list as long as my arm
I am getting 2 or 3 calls a week from people.Dread the after christmas math as there is already people advertising babys for sale that will make great christmas pressies
Have to say I would have loved Petal and Porky for myself as i have a real soft spot for rex's and silver agouties are even better

I love Rex's too we have 12 that are our pets. Petal and Porky are honeys, Petal came to us pregnant but unfortunately the baby was still born at a huge 140g. Petal is doing well and luckily was not pushing too long so has recovered from the strain of it. The baby sow would have been beautiful white with a silver agouti patch on her bottom and half her face and grey ears. We both shed a few tears when she was buried in our garden. Porky is castrated so he and Petal are back together forever which is nice :)
We are also getting several calls a week with a long waiting list and that is after they have tried the main rescue in the area who have passed them on to us. Too many guineas end up on the ad trader as people get tired of waiting for us to have space :( But there is no way I can take on more, until we re-home some.
 waiting for the 'unwanted present' calls after Christmas - so sad.
