Guess Who I Found Tonight...

Was feeding my non photo corals tonight and saw some legs moving around on a rock and upon closer look, it was not one of my emerald crab's legs.

Little #28### was hiding in one of my zoo rocks!
Took about 3 hours to get him out of the rock enough to catch him.

I think he's a gorilla crab, just looking for some confirmation? He'll be a tasty snack for a puffer tomorrow at work! sorry for the quality, camera wouldn't focus correctly.

is that a 'bad' crab then?

Most true crabs are 'bad' as they are optimistic scavengers but I find that in a well fed tank (well fed not over fed) they have enough food and if a crab is full he doesn't try to eat your fish
I'm tempted to say teddy bear crab myself.

I tried to grab him at first when I saw him, but he scrambled into a hole and after a few minutse of trying to get him, I decided it wasn't going to work. He made home in a small rock with zoos on it, so I took the rock out and put it into a small container with water in it.

I first tried adding coral dip to see if that would usher him out; no luck. So I turned out the lights and waited 20 minutes. He was half way out and I went to make a grab for him, but accidentally pulled out one of his legs and he went scrambling back into his hole.

Turned off the lights, and put some mysis in. This time it took an hour for him to come back out. But I got him that time! I wasn't letting him back in my tank!
