Gudgeon teeth?

I just looked at my gudgeon (Mogurnda mogurnda) he has large bumps in his mouth that look like randomly sized teeth. My question is, do purple spotted gudgeons have teeth or is this a disease?

They dont have what you could call teeth, just a row of small bristles top and bottm at the front of of the jaw which are used to hold onto prey.

Good because my dad was afraid that if he had teeth he might easily injure anyother fish we put in with it
